DRIVING PLATES

Driving plates, now commonly termed green screen backgrounds, were called in the past rear screen or front screen projection "plates".  The hero or villain would sit behind the wheel of a prop automobiles jostled on the set by production grips while the background whizzed by in a moving point of view either straight back, forward or out the side.  These older examples are used for period productions to match the era or often for comedic effect.  Our footage includes moving povs and driving plates for Times Square, Los Angeles and Hollywood streets, desert and swamp travel, diamond stack, steam and deisel trains, even old western stagecaoch and buggy backgrounds, Venice canals for Gondolas, snow skiing and water skiing!
